Karner Blue Butterfly Research and Monitoring

Dr. Lane has conducted research on many aspects of Karner blue butterfly (Lycaeides melissa samuelis) biology and ecology. She has completed numerous reports and management plans for the butterfly and is a member of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service recovery team. She has done extensive surveying and monitoring for the butterfly including work for the WI Department of Transportation, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Xcel Energy (formerly Northern States Power) and several private contractors.
